Located in the Songjiang District, a suburban area southwest of Shanghai’s city center, the Songjiang Hub Station’s public plaza draws inspiration from clouds. In Songjiang, clouds symbolize elevated spaces, forming various connections and shapes in the sky, and they have become emblematic of the city’s aspirations, representing limitless possibilities for future development.

For the central green axis of the Songjiang Hub, SWA embraced the cloud’s spatial significance, creating multiple connections between time and space. Just as clouds evolve and their rain nourishes green spaces, the story of the Songjiang Hub Green Axis—“Clouds Linking Time and Space”—unfolds throughout the project. On the south side of the site, the Songjiang Hub aerial platform connects to a second-floor aerial corridor. The central green axis is intersected by railways, elevated roads, and ground-level roads. SWA elevated the park to create a seamless experience across multiple levels, incorporating various service facilities and parking on the first floor. The expanded second-floor space becomes an aerial cloud park, floating above the site.
