SWA won a master plan competition for this 900-hectare resort focused on the beauty of the forest and mountains, preserving and enhancing creeks, expanding trails, and experiencing nature. Five villages are proposed within five separate valleys, connected by a common trail system, ponds, and gondola. Existing hot springs will anchor a five-star, Korean-themed village building rooted in the arts and health. The site’s overall aesthetic is inspired by historic Korean village patterning and is centered on a retail village near the existing resort. The heart of the resort is a 165-hectare forest park that seeks to inspire, educate, and celebrate the site’s cultural and ecological heritage.
