Evan Lee
Evan Lee has designed and managed site-scale landscape and urban design projects primary in the U.S., China, Indonesia, and the Middle East. He focuses on detail-oriented design and a narrative-driven design process to reveal the intrinsic qualities of each place. Evan’s design interests lie in expressing the phenomenological aspects of the built environment through material, pattern, and spatial means. He pursues design by exploring contemporary visualization techniques, theories, and technologies that reframe contemporary landscapes.
Evan has been a co-instructor for a joint collaboration urban design studio between Cal Poly Pomona and SWA Laguna Beach since 2014. He has acted as lead studio coordinator for urban design studios that have partnered with the DC Office of Planning and the LA Office of Planning, and has also taught as an adjunct professor and lecturer at Cal Poly Pomona, where he shares his interests in creative landscape storytelling through mixed-media constructs and nuanced visualizations.
