David is an Associate Principal who joined SWA as Director of Photography and Creative Media, overseeing the imaging group for SWA firmwide from the Sausalito office. He brings over 20 years of experience working in the creative media field with a broad range of expertise in photography, video production, multimedia, and Web design. David is an award-winning photographer with a passion for documenting the interaction between people and the environment. Additionally, he recently became a licensed remote pilot, leveraging drone aircraft to capture SWA’s work in increasingly relevant ways.

His creative works have been showcased in Architectural Record, Urban Land, Landscape Architecture, and Topos. Throughout his career, David has worked as a graphic designer, multimedia and Web producer, and videographer, and he has spent the last 15 years as a photographer and studio manager, documenting the built environment for industry-leading landscape architecture firms. His deep understanding of a broad range of creative and digital media have made him an integral part of firmwide marketing efforts at SWA.
