Perched atop one of the highest points in San Antonio, this luxury resort was designed around its unique views of the city and its own golf course. SWA’s renovation of this striking hotel’s landscape included terracing down over 10 feet of the San Saba courtyard, expanding the resort’s many hospitality venues. Within San Saba, guests are invited to explore multi-leveled gardens, outdoor dining, water features, and fire pits. Renovation of the pool courtyard encompassed 19,000 square feet of pools at three levels, with a children’s play area, cabanas, trellises, and Jacuzzis, as well as access to three dining facilities. Both courtyard designs feature relaxed leisure spaces to accommodate guests of all ages. A new spa, also part of SWA’s scope of work, was designed to embrace the steep terrain with plunge pools, treatment rooms at different levels, and a main spa pool. Natural limestone, flagstone, and native Texas plantings transcribe “Hill Country” character into a modern context.
