Stanford Manzanita Housing Show Project Info Back

In conjunction with the architects, SWA was commissioned to provide design for Manzanita Park to include housing for 600 undergraduate students on the Stanford University campus. Building the site plan around the existing Kimball Hall, the team worked to locate buildings to establish outdoor gathering places and connect to other campus destinations along a north-south axis. Four small walled courtyards provide intimate spaces at building entries, while the main lawn creates a central gathering place and a forecourt to the complex’s dining hall. Covered walkways frame the main lawn area and a series of semi-enclosed seating areas are adjacent to the main quad.
